Bio

Welcome! My name is Steph LeHane, and I am a bicoastal actor in Musical Theatre, Film, TV, and Commercials.

Obligatory cheery actor intro: complete.

I was born and raised in Orange County, CA, which often surprises people upon knowing, and I take such surprise as a compliment.  I'm also an only child, which never surprises anyone upon learning.  Hm.

My technical first time performing on stage was in kindergarten, in a musical called "The Alphabet Tree."  I was one of the two caterpillars, which at the time I was very disappointed at not being one of the twenty-six letters, but looking back, it was the beginning of a long and storied career as a character actor.

My first self-propelled time on stage was in first grade, lip-syncing to "Go The Distance" from Hercules, complete in a Party City costume.  My drag king career apparently started that night, too.

I then had six years of performance inactivity, because I remembered I was painfully shy.  My discovery of "Weird Al" Yankovic in seventh grade, however, reignited the latent draw to the stage, and I lip-synced (sanc?) to "It's All About the Pentiums" at the talent show.  I only realized later - like, a couple years ago - that all the kids complimenting me the day after on how cool it was, were probably making fun of me.  Alas.

Another six years' hibernation later, and my second year in college, I discovered the cast recording of Shrek the Musical, which inspired me to find a vocal teacher on Craigslist and try out for the school musical - The Wedding Singer.  Luckily, I was cast as Waitress/Shop Employee/Clubber/Wedding Guest (I didn't get a body mic, though) and thus began my official career in acting.  So, yes:  Shrek the Musical is responsible for this website existing.

(I also met my wife on the Shrek sub-Reddit, so there's multiple pillars in my life that are built upon Shrek.)

ANYWHO.

I play drums, guitar, bass, a bit of harmonica and piano.  I also dabble in standup comedy.  My left eyeball is darker than the right, "iris nevus" is the medical term I think.

Some dream roles in no particular order are: Boq (Wicked), Mark (RENT), Johnny (American Idiot), Cleves (Six), Igor (Young Frankenstein), Jack (Into The Woods), Jo (Jagged Little Pill), Bobby Strong (Urinetown), Lord Farquaad (Shrek) (duh), Seymour (Little Shop), Lefou (Beauty and the Beast), Musidorus (Head Over Heels), Timon (Lion King)... I could go on.  But you get it.  The "Just A Little Guy" type.

Thanks for stopping by!
